Please check our website next April in case a pot of gold has come our way and we can afford to go forward with a training next fall.

Counselling for Individuals Couples & Groups
Counsellor Training Program

The Centre offers a  counselling program to train volunteers to become counsellors with the Centre. Volunteers are carefully selected and are offered approximately 160 hours of training with professional counsellor/educators in a ten month, one evening a week program. In addition to the weekly training there are two weekend workshops, reading requirements, and co-counselling practice.

The training involves both personal growth work and the development of counselling skills. Upon completion of the training each counsellor begins to repay a commitment of 250 hours of volunteer counselling through the Centre.


Counsellors receive regular, ongoing, professional supervision of their counselling through the Centre.

The training program begins in September and ends in June each year. Sixteen people are chosen to participate from those interviewed. Applications for the training program are given out annually in the Spring. Please call the Centre for more details.
